Gujarat High Court suspends Ahmedabad Sessions Court Judge

Ahmedabad’s Bhadra sessions court’s Additional Sessions Judge RH Sharma has been suspended.

The Gujarat High Court has suspended an Additional Sessions Judge of the city sessions and civil court here following complaints of irregularities against him.

“We have suspended additional sessions judge R H Sharma yesterday,” High Court Registrar General P P Bhatt said.

“We had received complaints of irregularities against the judge hence the decision to suspended him with immediate effect was taken,” Bhatt said.

He said there will be a departmental inquiry against Sharma and based on its report further action would be taken.

Shinning career of Sharma

Rajendrakumar Hiralal Sharma completed his law education with first class in 1972. During 1985 to 1993, he served as a special public prosecutor of CBI. He convected CBI cases in this period. Sharma was CBI advocate in Harshad Mehta security scam and Mumbai bomb blast cases at Mumbai Tada court. His car was attacked after the court passed an order to seize Mumbai bomb blast accused Abdul Gani Kazi’s property. Sharma had also successfully fight for seizing of Dawood Ibrahim’s property in London. Sharma had framed charges against 29 accused in Jamnagar RDX landing case. He was given security commando cover after this verdict. Due to his good performance, Chief Justice B.N.Kirpal selected him as a judge. In his fifteen years of duty as a judge, Sharma was transferred 15 times. In year 2008 and 2009, the high court had given him a ‘very good’ certificate. Sharma was in High Court judge panel.

‘This has been done to stop me becoming a high court judge’

After his suspension Sharma has reportedly alleged that he has been suspended because ‘certain judges’ do not want him to become a high court judge.

44 complaints against suspended judge

There has been 44 complaints so far against Ahmedabad sessions court’s suspended judge R.H.Sharma. This include charges such as issuing wrong judicial orders, favor in recruitment, character related charges, unacceptable behavior, misbehave with staff, tempering police investigation report records, mismanagement, mental torture etc. The lat complains was about misbehave in High Court on January 9th, early this year.
