Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, inaugurated the three-day Sahachintana Shibira, a brain-storming session for BJP ruled Karnataka state cabinet ministers, at the picturesque surroundings of Suttur Mutt in Nanjangud taluka, about 30 km from Mysore.
Modi delivered a lecture on ‘Good governance:Gujarat experience’.
Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi were welcomed at the venue with traditional music. They later offered puja at the Gaddige temple.
The Ministers were brought to the venue in two Volvo buses from Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel.
The chief guests are Ananthkumar, BJP National General Secretary, Sadanandagowda, State BJP President, Dhananjaykumar, State Government’s representative in Delhi and V. Satish, BJP National Joint Secretary.
According to Sadanandagowda, the session is meant for introspection and an open interaction to bring out the strength and weaknesses of Ministers in carrying out the assigned tasks in development works. A few newcomers may not be fully aware of BJP principles. They can be groomed in the session, he said.
The three-day meet has been described by the state BJP as a ‘chintan-manthan’, or brain-storming team building effort and human resource development training.
“It will be an in-house exercise. We are not inviting any outside expert to give talks. Main speakers will be Modi, Jaitley, Ananth Kumar and a few leaders of the Karnataka unit of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh),” a BJP spokesperson said.
Modi took the class on team building and human resource development for ministers in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruled Karnataka government.
Narendra Modi was seen having an informal briefing session with the Ministers over breakfast at Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel. When some Ministers reportedly boasted of having identified a couple of lakhs of BPL category people for offering benefits, Modi allegedly quipped saying more BPL category actually meant lower development rate and should not be hyped.
Briefing the media persons over the nature of the camp, Sadanandagowda said that the camp will be held daily from 9 am to 10 pm. All the Ministers including the Chief Minister would participate in the grooming sessions to be conducted by core National BJP and RSS leaders.
When reporters asked as to why Modi was chosen as the key trainer, Sadanandagowda just said ‘Modi was an all-rounder and a true role model in providing positive results in developments. He will provide invaluable tips to the Ministers on good administration and personality development.’
There would be 12 sessions in all for three days and would cover every sphere of governance. The day would begin with yoga, pranayama and meditation for better focusing of mind, he added.
Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Modi attended torch-light parade of Dasara festival at Bannimantap Grounds as a Chief Guest of the function.
