Gujarat Congress leaders always shout that central fund granted to Gujarat is misused and not used properly by Modi administration. Recently when Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of Ahmedabad BRTS, Gujarat Congress leader again said the same as BRTS project is partially funded by centre under JNNURM scheme.
But contrary to Gujarat Congress view, the Central Minister of related department has something else to say. Saugata Ray, junior minister for urban development at the centre in his recent interview to PTI said Gujarat has made significant progress in terms of implementation of JnNURM projects.
Replying to a question asked by PTI, Mr. Roy said that some states have made significant progress notably Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh followed by Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, while some like West Bengal and Delhi have fallen behind in terms of implementation of JNNURM projects.
Saugata Ray, a member of Parliament from the Trinamool Congress had said in last August also that while Gujarat topped the list of states in utilizing funds for the scheme, followed by Maharastra, West Bengal lagged behind due to lack of projects.
