Udaipur’s pregnant woman dies of swine flu in Ahmedabad

A 23-year-old pregnant woman Dipika Soni(7th month of pregnancy) died of swine flu in Ahmedabad’s V.S.hospital today, taking the death toll due to the disease in Gujarat to 40, health officials said.

Dipika Soni of Udaipur, Rajasthan showed symptoms of illness on 19th of this month. She was admitted in the general hospital in Udaipur on 21st of this month. When her condition deteriorated, she was transferred to Ahmedabad’s civic body run V S Hospital on October 25 and subsequently tested positive for swine flu, they said.

According to the officials, the woman was put on ventilator this evening after her condition deteriorated. She later succumbed to the viral infection.
