He was undergoing treatment in Ahmedabad’s Sterling hospital for last several days. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi had visited him in the hospital last week.
In 2002 post Godhra Gujarat assembly election, Jadeja was one of the only two victorious MLAs of BJP in Kutch. He was elected from border area constituency – Abadasa. He was also chairman of the district central co-operative bank.
In 2007 assembly election, Jadeja, a protégé of former Chief Minister Suresh Mehta had defected to the Congress after his open rebellion against Narendra Modi. Muslim community enjoys majority of vote share in some pockets of Kutch border area.
Before 2009 Lok Sabha election Jadeja along with several other ex-BJP leaders joined back the BJP.
Jadeja was vigilant BJP leader of border area of Kutch. He always stood for border security and raised important border related issues frequently on the floor of the assembly and outside.
