260 new checkdams in Ahmedabad district before next monsoon

The government of Gujarat has planned to construct 260 check dams in Ahmedabad districts before next monsoon on sites identified by Bhaskaracharya Institute For Space Applications and Geo-Informatics(BISAG) satellite Imaginary team.

“BISAG has identified the best places where if great amount of water could be conserved. We will construct 90 check dams under NAREGA. Economic backward Barvala taluka will have 19 check dams. 18 check dams will be built in cooperation of Reliance Development Trust. Under DPAP programme, 135 check dams are planned. Of them construction work of 40 checkdams is already completed.
