Gujarat government will bring a string of important legislations during the over a month-long budget session of the state assembly, commencing on February 24.
“The budget session of the State Assembly will start on February 24 and end on March 31,” Assembly Speaker Ashok Bhatt said today, adding it was up to the government to decide the date for presenting the budget.
Vajubhai Vala, Gujarat’s longest-serving Finance Minister, will present his 15th budget.
Meanwhile, the government is preparing to bring a string of important legislations, seeking amendments in laws related to revenue, lands and urban development, sources in the State Secretariat said.
Last year’s budget was presented in the Assembly in July after the Lok Sabha polls in April-May.
The government had postponed the budget and opted for a vote-on-account, citing the parliamentary polls.
