Dr.Pravin Togadia arrested, released in Orissa
Ahmedabad, 20 March, 2010
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Dr. Praveen Togadia has been released on personal bond today morning. Togadia left for Bhanjanagar in Ganjam district after his release.
Dr. Togadia was arrested last night under Section 151 of the CrPc for attempting to enter Christian Missionary’s religious conversion catchment area Kandhamal district in Orissa as a ban was imposed by the district administration on his entry and his interaction with local Hindus in danger.
Dr. Togadia said, it was not fair on the part of the State Government to put a restriction on his visit in his own country. The VHP has called for 12-hour Kandhamal shutdown today in protest against the administration’s move to bar Dr. Togadia from entering Kandhamal. All shops and business establishments were closed today in reponse to a call.
