The Hindu admits it reported Modi’s SIT date incorrectly
Ahmedabad, 24 March, 2010
Chennai based English daily ‘The Hindu’ in its Wednesday(24th March) edition admitted that it had incorrectly reported the date for Mr. Narendra Modi’s scheduled SIT appearance as March 21.
The Hindu in its related article mentioned a line: “The Hindu, which broke the news of the summons, had earlier incorrectly reported the date for Mr. Modi’s scheduled (SIT)appearance as March 21.”
Meanwhile the Modi supporters on blogoshpere are now demanding that national daily ‘Indian Express’ should withdraw its editorial on Modi titled “Predictable No-show” which claimed that Modi had not, till date, publicly regretted the murderous mayhem of 2002.
“The awkward English and the disrespectful tone apart, this statement by the Indian Express is an outright lie as the Times News Network had reported on the 25th March 2005 that Mr. Narendra Modi in a television interview had expressed regret for the 2002 riots,” said a blogger on WordPress.
“It is ironical that the Indian Express on a day when it patted itself on its back on being awarded for Excellence, should have written such a careless editorial with no fact check while lending credence to a lie. The Indian Express must withdraw its editorial and issue an apology to its readers,” the blogger further added.
