Togadia’s advocate seeks clarity/detail on SIT summons
Gandhinagar, 26 April, 2010
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia has sought clarification from Supreme Court appointed Special Investigation Team that for which reason and on bases of what document he has been summoned.
According to Togadia’s advocate Dipak Shukla, it is basic right of a person to know that for what he is summoned. “We have written a letter to SIT and also sent a copy to the Supreme Court of India asking that on what bases, in which case and under which provision Dr. Pravin Togadia has been asked to present before the SIT. It is fundamental right of Dr. Togadia to know about this in detail. We have sought a document on the bases of which the SIT was formed.”
“When our two advocate friends went to Gandhinagar based SIT office to submit this letter asking details to Mr. Malhotra, he refused to receive the letter and said if Modi could come to SIT, why Togadia was apprehensive about his arrest. Malhotra’s such statement was not proper. Dr. Togadia is an iron man like Sardar Patel and he is not afraid of SIT. He just wants detail about the procedure,” Shukla added.
