“Centre is targeting Gujarat through CBI” Rajya Sabha adjourned
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 26 April, 2010
The Rajya Sabha was adjourned today morning following noisy protests by the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) against centre for targeting the BJP ruled Gujarat government by using CBI in one or two cases.
The trouble arose when Home Minister P. Chidambaram was replying to reports of such incidents in the national capital and BJP member Rajiv Pratap Rudi raised a question on centre targeting the Gujarat government through CBI. While BJP was asking question on Gujarat, the Home minister was smiling trickily and Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari refused to grant permission to ask the question further to Ruddy. Ansari also said there was no need to answer this question.
This, however, did not satisfy the BJP members who were joined by MPs from Samajwadi Party. Failing to restore order, Ansari adjourned the house till 12 noon.
