Works for two new overbridges kick off in Vadodara
Ahmedabad, DeshGujarat, 9 May, 2010
In the era where every major city in India is witnessing construction of new over bridges for smoother traffic, the city of Vadodara didn’t witness construction of any new over bridge for almost two decades after Pratapnagar over bridge was built.
But lately the city is seeing some light. In March this year, the city got it’s first over bridge after 20 years named after Shri Dindayal Upadhyay in Vadsar area.
And the city has not stopped there. Yesterday groundbreaking ceremonies were held at two places in the city for construction of two new over bridges.
While proposed railway overbridge at Soma Talav/ Dabhoi road, connecting city’s east, south and national highway areas, is named after Shri Rang Avdhoot, the other over bridge connecting Akota and Dandiya bazar has been named after Maharanai Shanta Devi.
The government intends to complete the works on these projects worth Rs 80 crore within 18 months period.
