Amitabh Bachchan tweets his experiences in Kutch

Following are Amitabh Bachchan’s tweets so far during his Gujarat journey that began at Bhuj airport on Friday afternoon. Bachchan is in Gujarat till 4 June for Gujarat Tourism ad film shoots in capacity of brand ambassador.

-Landed in Bhuj ! Strong winds, dry arid land but smiling screaming enthusiastic crowds at the airport. Off for the shoot immediately

-Flying over sea and land incredible patterns below of my beautiful country.. places look unexplored untouched, as nature made them…

-In my own country … in Gujarat for a Tourism campaign film

-Bhuj .. where Abhishek gave his first shot for film career.spoke to him in Istanbul, was getting nostalgic.. will visit the spot later

-Its hot but the warmth of the people is exceptional ..

-back from first few hours of shoot in Gujarat, Bhuj … interesting .. so much history, glory, diversity.. will describe detail in blog(at 8.04 pm)

-Almost 90% of this city was devastated in the terrible earthquake some years back.. now fresh constructions abound ..

-Dressed up as the typical ‘Kutch i’, everyone loved it. Reference was my dress in SRK film Paheli .. ShahRukh you reading ?

-Tomorrow morning call at 4 am !! The Rann gets inceredibly hot and dusty beyond 10 or 11 AM .. so need to do those early shots !!

-For me its working time . I will get up at 3 AM ready by 4 AM, and drive to shoot 1 hour to take the first shot at 5 AM !!

-These are films being made to promote tourism in Gujarat ..

-Oh hello … nice hotel … nicer people !!!

-Off to have Gujju dinner .. the desert winds make me hungry and rough and determined .. my determination will come from you and you ..(at 9.19 pm)

-The Rann !! Fascinating ! Not as white as expected, but still incredible in its nothingness. Very strong winds even at 5am ! Lunch now

-The surface of the Rann, salt laden. By afternoon the sea will come in they say. Water already seeping through the earth.

-The strong winds fill up your clothes your hair, your face – buy above fills up your mind with that air of freedom !!

-The district of Kutch the largest in India – size of the state of Haryana. Not too many people ; 250,000 and lucrative for business.

– I am not here to grade anyone .. i am here to make films to promote tourism in Gujarat

-Arre bhai saheb mai toh khud nahin uth paya .. mera alarm nahin baja, aur jaldi jaldi location par pahunch gaya.. some how

– I was wearing general casual … but now will wear traditional ..

-There is no connectivity on the Rann, for security reasons – the other end is Pakistan. In room there is .. yes telcom revolution

-A short quick nap before setting out again on the Rann … lunch was fine .. sorry could not share it with all of you !!

-In the Rann a man, a common man, now famous in his own right – he teaches and educates young girls through his own resource..incredible
