Preparations for Big-B in Somnath in line with President’s visit

Shri Somnath Mahadev Mandir is being cleaned and shined for grand ad shoot of Gujarat Tourism with legendary film star Amitabh Bachchan as its brand ambassador.

The hectic works in and outside the Mandir, such as stone polishing and washing of pillars were seen in execution on Sunday. The VIP guest house is getting final touch to welcome Amitabh Bachchan here. The preparations are similar to that of the President of India’s visit here last year.

Meanwhile it is learnt that for the first time in its history, Shri Somnath Mandir will remain closed for one-full-day for common visitors and devotees when shooting will take place here in presence of Amitabh Bachchan. The Mandir has witnessed many VIP and VVIP visitors in past, but all of them visited it for some time and went back. But Amitabh Bachchan’s ad shoot will go on for one full day, and therefore, it has been decided that for his security, and for smooth run of the ad shoot, Shri Somnath Mandir will remain close for visitors for one-day.
