Rekha Doshit is new Chief Justice of Bihar High Court

The President of India has appointed Ahmedabad’s Ms Justice Rekhaben Doshit, a judge of the Gujarat High Court, as the chief Justice of Patna High Court.
The post of the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court fell vacant after Justice Dipak Misra took over as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
Ms Justice Doshit, 58, enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Gujarat in April, 1977. She was elevated to the Bench of the Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge in September, 1995 and confirmed as Permanent Judge in June, 1997.
Mr Justice M Yusuf Eqbal, a Judge of the Jharkhand High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
Profile of Ms Justice Rekhaben Doshit
Born on 13.12.1952 at Rajkot.
Did S.S.C. in 1968 from Maharashtra S.S.C. Board. Obtained B.Sc. Degree in 1972 from Bombay University. Did LL.B. in 1976 from Sir L. A. Shah Law College, Ahmedabad, Gujarat University.
Enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Gujarat on 17.4.1977. Started practice in June, 1981. Worked as Assistant to Government Solicitors from June, 1985. Worked as Assistant Government Pleader, High Court of Gujarat from January, 1989 to May, 1994 and as Additional Public Prosecutor, High Court of Gujarat from March 1991 to May, 1994. Was Panel Advocate of Gujarat Electricity Board from January 1993. Practised Constitutional, Civil, Service, Taxation and Criminal matters, and was specialized in Service and Sales Tax matters.
Elevated to the Bench of Gujarat High Court as Additional Judge on 18.9.1995 and confirmed as Permanent Judge on 18.6.1997.
Due to retire on 13.12.2014.
