62.41% voting in Ahmedabad’s Rajpath club election(photos)

Ahmedabad’s prestigious Rajpath club management committee election witnessed around 62.41% voting today.

The election in this club is being carried out after gap of seven years.

The battle is between panels of NG Patel and Paresh Dani. While Paresh Dani panel is supported by BJP, the NG Patel panel has Congress support. Paresh Dani is from Girish Dani family. Girish Dani controls another posh Karnavati club on SG Highway of Ahmedabad. NG Patel is a well known builder in Ahmedabad. Paresh Dani’s panel is in control of Rajpath club for last several years. NG Patel panel is challenging it.

There were total 9426 voters out of which 5914 voters carried out voting.

There are total 60 candidates from two panels. Moreover there are eight independent candidates too in fray. The members of the club will elect total 30 candidates.

The voting was held between 8am to 6pm. After counting starting from 8.00 pm, the results will be out by early morning of Monday.
