Total 11 scheduled flights that were to be operated from Ahmedabad airports on Monday were canceled due to less passenger traffic thanks to nationwide bandh call given by the opposition parties protesting price rise.
According to details available from the airport, Go Air operated two out of their total three scheduled flights, Indigo operated two out of five flights, Spice Jet seven out of eleven, Jet seven out of nine, and Kingfisher operated two out of total three scheduled flights on Monday.
The flights canceled were to connect Ahmedabad with Mumbai, Pune, Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Delhi.
Interestingly central government controlled Indian Airlines continued to operate both of its scheduled flight on Monday even with almost zero traffic.
The airlines sourced told DeshGujarat that there were rampant cancellation on and before bandh day which forced to cancel some flights.
