CBI okay with Amin turning approver:What next?

CBI today agreed to suspended Gujarat cop N.K. Amin turning an approver in the Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case.

The CBI agreed to Amin’s plea during a hearing of the case in a special CBI court on Tuesday. The agency, however, made it clear that the application to turn approver will be granted if Amin makes a full and true disclosure.

The court gave Amin – an accused in the Sohrabuddin case – time till August 13 to reflect on his decision.

Amin had filed a plea last month to reveal all details in lieu of pardon.

How Amin as approver can be troublesome for other accused?

-On 13th the confession of Amin will be recorded by CBI in presence of the Magistrate. If CBI thinks, his confession is useful, CBI will tell the court that they are ready to make Amin a Star Witness of the case.

-Amin can provide vital evidences to CBI. CID(Crime) and CBI both investigating agencies are so far not able to unearth any forensic evidence that Kausarbi was killed. Amin knows Kausarbi issue very well, as he was involved in it from start to end, according to sources. At present only Amin can take CBI team to the actual ground, so that the investigating team can have real evidences of Kausarbi’s murder and disposal her body.

-Presently there are murder charges against all the accused of Sohrabuddin case, but to prove charge of murder against any accuse in Kausarbi case, the investigating agency must have forensic evidences. Such evidence would prove more important than the statements on which CBI is relying presently. Amin if genuine approver, could be crucial in this exercise.

-Amin is familiar with technology very well. He had Nokia Communicator mobile phone when whole Sohrabuddin and Kausarbi issue was boiling. Amin might had recorded his telephone talks that could be important for the CBI. Amin has hobby of documenting the things on paper. He might have raw notes describing the affairs.

-Amin had frequent telephone talks with then minister of state for Home Shri Amit Shah. CBI would like to know what was the exact conversation.

-At present Kausarbi is allegedly murder, as there are no evidences of her murder. If Amin takes CBI team to place where Kausarbi’s body was disposed off, the Kausarbi case can be weightier than the Sohrabuddin case.

How Amin could not be as useful to CBI as he is shouting

-NK Amin is an accused, if he is not able to provide any material evidence, and just provide fancy stories, his that version of events could be easily challenged by other accused. This would provide nothing, but add one more story ‘A says B did C to D’ story in CBI’s bank.
