If central minister A.Raja is now well known as a Raja of corruption, the Civil Aviation minister Mr. Praful Patel should be known as a Raja of mismanagement, chaos, and worst form of governance. Anyone who has used New Delhi Airport’s T3 terminal in last 12 days will agree to this.

For last 12 days, the passengers including all Gujarat-America travellers, passing through Delhi airport’s Terminal three(T3) are experiencing horrifying time. There are plenty of articles published in national media on this mess. But worth watching is couple of videos on the link given below that would take you to one blogger Saurabh Joshi’s page. Saurabh has presented two videos, captured by his mobile phone, showing Gujarati passengers shouting ‘Air India Hay Hay’ at Delhi airport, for a flight to Ahmedabad.

The passengers in the videos are NRIs who have arrived at Delhi Airport’s Terminal 3 from America. They are fed up waiting for their flight to Ahmedabad where their journey is to be terminate according to travel plan.

Air India dropped Frankfurt hub and switched over to Delhi airport’s Terminal 3 as their new hub.However T3 is too big, and Air India’s flights are many, but the staff is too few, and just not capable to handle the things starting from flying a plane to handling baggage and informing the passengers.

One passenger Rajal Thacker of Ahmedabad told DeshGujarat how her flight from America reached on time to Delhi airport, but everything was chaotic then after at the airport there.

“We arrived at Delhi airport from Chicago at 5.00 pm and were to depart to reach Ahmedabad at 6.55 pm, however the flight was delayed. We were first told that the flight will depart at 8.30. Then they said it would be 9.30, but finally they gave us a plane to reach Ahmedabad at 11.00 pm. We were told that there was not sufficient crew available to handle the flight. There was a shortage of ground staff too. They said they need at least five persons in crew to commence a flight. We were served food at 11.30 in plane. Some passengers who were diabetes patient missed their schedule and had tough time,” Thaker said.

Central minister Dinesh Trivedi who is from Trinamool Congress has sent a complain note to the Prime Minister, expressing worry about the chaos in Civil Aviation ministry and Air India. On Thursday central Minister Mamta Banerjee had to sit in plane for three hours at Delhi airport, thanks to Air India and T3 Chaos.

As Frankfurt hub is scrapped, the passengers of Ahmedabad who want to go to America, and Canada in Air India flight have to rout through Delhi airport T3. Ahmedabad based Air India officials accept that each and every flight to and from America and Canada are delayed at Ahmedabad airport due to Delhi airport’s T3 problem. The officials however are hopeful that the problems would be sorted out, as now all domestic and international traffic of Air India is being handled at one single terminal in Delhi.
