Ahmedabad, 1 December, 2010

The Supreme Court has rejected Swami Sachchidanand’s plea against Gujarat High Court order in Babu Mohania death case.

Gujarat High Court Justice Akil Qureshi had ordered to investigate charges against Sachchidananda under murder and arms act on 30th October this year.

Swami Sachchidananda had allegedly shot at one unidentified person in year 2006 from his weapon(whose license was not renewed at that time) in self protection when a group of robbers

entered in his ashram in dark hours of night. Swami had fired three rounds from his weapon. The robbers fled away from Dantali ashram after firing.

Later it was claimed by others that one injured robber was Babu Mohania who died ultimately.

In this regard, one advocate Mr. Lakhani filed petition in Petlad court against Swami Sachidananda.

But Petlad court had freed Swami Sachchidanand from all charges against him.

Lakhani had challenged local court’s order in Gujarat High Court then after.

On 30th October the Gujarat High Court Justice Akil Qureshi ordered Petlad court to proceed against Swami under murder and arms act related charges.

Swami in one function at Mahesana had said in public then that Babu Mohania was dead in Ahmedabad’s hospital due to diabetes, and murder charges against him were baseless. Swami

has described the whole case as conspiracy against him. Swami says that he had pointed his weapon in a way that nobody would be killed.

Swami challenged the High Court order in Supreme Court.

However Supreme has today rejected Swami’s plea and ordered to go ahead according to High Court verdict in this case.
