Just like Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport, Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport has today got ‘Airport Express Service’.
However, for the first time, the passengers will be able to make use of auto rickshaw as compared to taxis and other high-end cars. The services has been launched by Nirmal foundation’s G-Auto with the support of Gujarat government and airport authority of India and State Bank of India.
Some of the distinctive features include 24×7 service, a booking counter at the arrival terminal, fare as per govt approved meter and well-trained drivers. The facility will be used to pick up passengers from city to airport by booking the service @ 927 444 4444.
The concept of G-auto was started by Nirmal Kumar, an IIM-A graduate from the batch of 2008. Kumar also plans to roll out the operation in other cities like Baroda, Surat and Rajkot in Golden Jubilee year of Gujarat.
