Dilipdasji Maharaj is new Mahant of Ahmedabad’s Jagannath Mandir

Within hours of sad demise of Ahmedabad’s Rathyatra fame Jagannath Mandir Mahant Shri Rameshwardasji today morning, Shri Dilipdasji Maharaj, a young sadhu who has been a public face of Mandir was appointed new Mahant(Chief Priest)in simple ceremony. Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi performed ritual of installation of new Mahant by offering him a ‘chaadar’ cloth. Rajya Sabha MP Shri Parimal Nathwani, Ahmedabad Mayor Shri Asit Vora, Minister of state Shri Pradipsinhji Jadeja were present on this occasion among other dignitaries and large number of devotees.
Jagannath Mandir’s Mahant Parampara
-Mahant Hanumandasji established a Hanuman temple.(It’s still there in Jagdish Mandir campus)
-Mahant Sarangdasji established Jagannathji,Balabhadra and Subhadra’s idols in the temple.
-Mahant Balmukunddasji
-Mahant Narsimhdasji started Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad.
-Mahant Sevadasji
-Mahant Ramharshdasji initiated work of restructuring of the temple.
-Mahant Rameshwardasji passed away today morning
