When Vogue choose Wadhvan for Lily Cole’s cover shoot
Wadhvan, 27 April, 2011

This is the cover page of Vogue magazine, and we have put it here because this cover shoot had happened in Gujarat. The photograph was taken in Wadhvan town of Surendranagar district in Saurashtra when Vogue did a fashion feature called ‘Lily Takes a Trip’, which was about English supermodel and actress Lily Cole touring India. It featured the palaces of Wadhwan and Morvi in Gondal. In one of the most famous photographs of the feature, Lily Cole was shown on a spiral staircase of the Rajmahal Palace Hotel of Wadhwan with a dress trailing down 26ft.
Presented below are some of the photographs from Vogue’s Wadhvan shoot featuring Lily. Photographer was Tim Walker.
