A BSF helicopter that had taken off from Gandhinagar in Gujarat at 2.20 pm crashed in the hills of village Fatehpura near Abu Road at about 3.30 pm on Friday killing all the four occupants, including the pilot. The aircraft was scheduled to land in Jodhpur at 4.20 pm.
The bodies lying scattered around the debris are charred beyond recognition.
BSF spokesman in New Delhi Tirtho Acharya said a team of the border force has been dispatched from Jodhpur to the place where the helicopter went down.
It should be mentioned here that BSF’s Gujarat Frontier headquarter is situated near Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar. Gujarat Frontier not only looks after Gujarat’s international border with Pakistan, but also has purview over some part of international border in Rajasthan.
