Construction of artificial tourist beach kicks off at Somnath(VIDEO)
Shri Somnath, 24 May, 2011
This is great news for all those who visit Somnath and walk there on the beach, but can’t dare to step in the sea water, because it’s very risky due to high wave.
By the end of this year there will be an artificial beach at Somnath coast not much far from Shri Somnath Mandir. An artificial beach is already under construction and it is expected to boost the number of tourists here.
An artificial beach will be spread on six acres of land. It will have a garden and swimming facility. The beach is being developed in a public-private partnership.
Deep Patel, Mine Engineer told NTDTV, “Our plan is to create a garden and an artificial beach. You can see we have already started construction, and the breakwater will be one kilometer long. The wall behind Somnath temple is a protective wall, which is about 400-500 meters long.”
