Shankersinh kicks off 2012 poll campaign from Kutch

Gujarat Congress leader and former Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela today morning kicked off the campaign for Gujarat assembly election 2012 from Kutch’s Ashapura Mata no Madh on the first day of Navratri. As Congress is party believes in balance act when it comes to religion, Shankersinh also visited Haji Pir dargah. Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia and former Gujarat Congress President and Dabhoi MLA Siddharth Patel were with Vaghela.
Shankersinh arrived in Kutch yesterday and visited Palara jail to meet suspended IAS officer Pradeep Sharma who is lodged in this jail facing charges of corruption.
Though Gujarat assembly election is scheduled in December, 2012, Shankersinh believes that Modi will invite early election possibly before middle of next year.
Shankersinh who lost last Lok sabha election has been made Gujarat Congress’s campaign committee head for 2012 assembly election.
