Narendra Modi visits Shanghai General Motors plant

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today visited Shanghai based Shanghai General Motors car manufacturing plant. SGM had established this plant in 1997 in partnership of Chinese government.
He said that major auto companies of the world are setting up t heir plants in Gujarat and that the state is becoming auto hub of Asia. In the coming years Gujarat will be producing about 50 lakh cars annually which give a great boost to auto ancillary industries also.
He said the State is planning that car companies in Gujarat set up automobile training institutes and R&D centre for imparting technical skills of auto sector among the youths of Gujarat.
