Congress supports Mid-day meal workers agitation

Gujarat Congress prabhari Shri Mohan Prakash today offered juice to mid-day meal scheme workers who were on hunger strike for last 504 days in Gandhinagar.

He said the Gujarat government exploits mid-day meal workers for last ten year in the name of fix pay. In the name of ‘Sahayaks’ the state government gives job to youths in education sector for 2500-4000 Rs pay, in health 2500-5000 Rs pay and in higher education only Rs 7500 while in police only Rs 3000 pay. Mr. Prakash addressed more than 20,000 mid-day meal workers and alleged corruption in mid-day meal schee contracts awarded by the state government. Gujarat Congress Secretary Jayprakash Thakar.
