“Congress fooled its cadre, backstabbed ally, cheated people, they just can’t be trusted” (Video)

Following are some interesting highlights from Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s Somnath speech. Shri Modi started his third round of campaigning for Gujarat assembly elections 2012 from Shri Somnath mandir today. Soon after darshan and abhishek at Shri Somnath mandir, Shri Modi addressed a public meeting in Tower chawk in Veraval. Here are some of the highlights from his speech:
-Can you forgive someone who cheats you? Perhaps you might not have faced any direct loss due to them, but you will certainly not place your trust in them again. In every election, Congress adopts new tricks. Congress fields independent candidates to cut votes. Don’t even look at those who are dancing to the tune of the Congress by taking commission. A party that doesn’t believe in a straight fight can never be trusted.
-Last week an important incident occurred in Junagadh. Congress people were crying that one 12-year-old child snatched away party candidate’s mandate. Don’t the people know Congress’s tricks and lies? They can fool their partymen, but not the people of Gujarat. It is good sign that one 12-year-old child snatched away their mandate. Even a 12-year-old child in Gujarat understands that Congress should not be given the mandate
-It needs to be understood well, how Congress cheated its workers. One year back they announced that party candidates will be announced on the 1st of May. So party workers started running here and there believing that if they don’t work for the party they would not get a ticket. Then they didn’t announce their candidates on 1st May, and later gave a new date of 15th of August. But they didn’t keep their word on 15th August either, and ultimately they just couldn’t announce the names of their candidates till the last minute of filing nominations. They distributed mandates on telephone. Their leaders were not ready to meet the party workers. This is the state of the party.
-Sharad Pawar’s party is Congress’s partner in Delhi and in Gujarat too. In Gujarat assembly, when Congress opposes the BJP govt, NCP follows. When Congress MLAs walk out, NCP MLAs join it. When Congress shouts slogans against Modi, NCP men follow suit. This time the Congress left 9 seats for the NCP to fight, as per their seat arrangements. Wasn’t that a gentleman’s promise? Now think, they have been partners for the last 8 years in govt, and their seat arrangement in Gujarat was announced in public. But what did the Congress party do finally? Overnight they fielded their candidates on the seats allotted to the NCP and backstabbed their partner. I am not speaking this as an advocate of the NCP, but the core issue is that the party that can backstab its own partner can’t be trusted.
-In 2009, these cheaters had promised a reversal in price hike in 100 days after coming to power, but prices never went down, and actually went up. They thus cheated the people. Cheaters can’t be trusted.
