Congress’s Winner candidate dies

Savita Khant who won Panch Mahal district’s Morva Hadaf seat(ST) on Congress ticket by a margin of 11,289 votes yesterday defeating nearest rival candidate BJP’s Bijal Damor, died today at a hospital in Vadodara. Khant suffered hemorrhage at her residence early in the morning on counting day yesterday. She was taken to a hospital in Vadodara by her husband. She was on a ventilator and her condition was critical throughout yesterday.
CM’s message
Chief Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep shock and grief over the passing away of newly-elected leader of Morva Hadaf constituency of Panchmahal district late Mrs. Savitaben Khant.
In a condolence message to the family members of the deceased leader Mr.Modi said the opportunity of serving the people which late Savitaben Khant received through public mandate has been snatched in an untimely manner. “I extend my empathies to the bereaved family of Smt. Savitaben Khant”, he said.
