GNFC plans to set up vending machines for fertilizer at 57 places in Gujarat

Vadodara, 4 January 2013

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Ltd (GNFC) plans to set up vending machines at 57 places across Gujarat for easy availability of fertilizers to farmers. GNDC’s Managing Director Anandmohan Tiwari shared this detail while speaking at Auto and Agro expo organized by Vadodara based Federation of Gujarat Industries.

Tiwari said, “presently farmers have to buy a 50 kg bag of fertilizer, however in many cases farmers don’t afford to buy 50 Kg bag at one go. Once vending machines are operated, they can buy even one Kg fertilizer and that too easily compare to now.”

Tiwari said fertilizer prices are up because raw material is exported from other countries. He said the government should work in direction of cheaper availability of raw material from African countries. NRIs and NRI Gujaratis can offer their help in this direction, he added.
