Narendra Modi gives Quality-Packaging-Brand mantra to Surat diamond barons at Sparkle 2013(Video)

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated Sparkle 2013 event in Surat. This was Modi’s first visit to Surat after victory in recently concluded Gujarat assembly polls. Modi recognized Surat’s contribution to his Gujarat victory.

Modi in his speech said that ten years long efforts to achieve quantum jump in industrial development are now all set to bring results.

Prior to Mr. Modi Government of India’s National Small Industries Corporation CMD HP Kumar addressed the function and said Gujarat is no.1 state in the area of small scale industries.

In reference to this, Shri Modi said that amid false propaganda by opponents, here is Government of India’s official himself recognizing Gujarat’s success in small scale industry growth. While India’s small scale industry growth is 19-20%, Gujarat is witnessing 85% growth. Modi said this is big success, achieved due to continuous efforts ranging from the areas of skill development to infrastructure, power transmission, social security, and brand Gujarat.

“While anti-Gujarat people allege that only five industrialists have benefited, it is the Government of India which admires Gujarat’s achievements in the area of small scale industries,” he said.

Modi in his speech gave example of China and attributed China’s success to manufacturing sector. Modi asked Surat’s diamond barons to adopt mantras of zero defect, excellent packaging and brand development. He said both machine jewellery and manually made jewellery – need attention for major success in the international market.

Sparkle was first organized in year 2006 by Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries with 14 stalls. This year there are 98 participants from across the world.
