Vajubhai Vala to be elected as Speaker of the Gujarat assembly unopposed

BJP MLA Vajubhai Vala today resigned from BJP’s primary membership. He submitted his resignation before Gujarat BJP President RC Faldu.
In order to become a regular Speaker, one has to leave his/her political party. After he tendered his resignation today, Shri Vala is now all set to be elected as new Speaker of Gujarat assembly on Wednesday.
Shri Vala was the senior most minister after Modi in previous government. Post-election, in this government, Shri Nitin Patel is senior most after Modi. Shri Vala is elected from Rajkot.
Gujarat Congress has approved Vala’s name for the post of Speaker, and therefore Vala’s unopposed election is certain tomorrow.
Both Shri Modi and the leader of opposition (provisionally the senior most Congress MLA Mohansinh Rathwa) will together take Shri Vala to Speaker’s chair after his election tomorrow.
Meanwhile Kutch BJP MLA Dr. Nimaben Acharya today took oath as working Speaker. She administered oath of MLAs today. Nimaben was selected for this job after Vajubhai Vala resigned from the post of protem Speaker to get elected as a regular Speaker.
