Polling for more than 1100 gram panchayats today (Video)

3 February 2013 will witness Gram panchayat polls across the state at 3,493 polling stations. The elections will involve total 15,67,609 voters. Out of total 1427 gram panchayats, 286 are declared Samras, which means the entire gram panchayat body has been elected unopposed. In some other panchayats, some members or Sarpanchs and not entire body has been elected unopposed. Accordint to the Gujarat Election Commission official, total number of gram panchayats that are going to poll today is 1161. Counting of votes for village panchayats polls will take place on February 5 and the results will be declared the same day.
