Minister Nitin Patel and Saurabh Patel are new Gujarat government spokespersons.
While Saurabh Patel was a spokesperson minister even in the last term, Shri Nitin Patel replaces Jaynarayan Vyas.
Vyas was the main spokesperson of Gujarat government, but he lost the poll from Siddhpur seat in north Gujarat. Therefore he has been replaced with Nitin Patel.
Nitin Patel is second most senior minister in the Narendra Modi cabinet. He is media friendly. Even when he was not a spokesperson minister, he used to brief media on various issues in last term.
While Nitin Patel can tackle Gujarati and Hindi media very well, the job of briefing media persons in English will be done by Saurabh Patel who speaks English well. Earlier English media was handled by Jaynarayan Vyas.
