Narendra Modi on Vitthal Radadia, Gujarat Congress and more(Video)

Vitthal Radadia, his son Jayesh Radadia and dozens of district, taluka, cooperative, milk federation leaders of Congress party today joined BJP in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and other BJP leaders in a public function attended by over 30,000 people in Dhoraji town of Rajkot district. Mr. Modi offered saffron scarf to Radaria and his son and welcomed them to BJP.

In his speech Shri Modi described Vitthal Radadia as a fighter forever, and an aggressive leader. Contrary to this, Modi said, Vitthalbhai’s son Jayesh Radadia is soft in nature. Modi said Vitthal Radadia has strength go swim against the flow. Referring to Radadias and their supporters, Modi said, these people are tremendous source of energy and they will provide further boost to Gujarat’s journey of development.

Modi said, ” I have never seen leaders of this size joining the party in such a big number in the history of BJP.”

Modi asked to defeat Congress party in forthcoming by-polls of Porbandar Lok Sabha seat and Limbdi, Dhoraji and Jetpur assembly seats in Saurashtra.

Attacking the Gujarat Congress, Modi said, “Generally, opposition party keeps silence after the election for at least 100 days, but here Congress men have started same behavior within couple of days after the elections. Their two inch tool in mouth(tongue) never stops. The type of language, the types of lies due to which the people of Gujarat defeated them are just not ending. These Congress people just don’t know the people of Gujarat. They have failed to do so. They might be successful in ensuring publication of their statements prominently in the newspapers, but as soon as the readers read such statements, they take decision to defeat Congress.”

On water issue:

There has been problem of water this year. The government sitting in Gandhinagar feels same pain as a person in water scarcity area. In the month of August, the need of water in Kutch and Saurashtra was 80 crore liter, today in a short period the government is supplying 150 crore liter water which is nearly double.

Due to elections, Gujarat witnessed model code of conduct for three months, and we told the election commission that they should permit water supply works, but unfortunately public-good works were halted for three moths in the name of model code of conduct. Imagine, for a state like Gujarat, how big was this gap of three months! After forming a new government, the first task we took in hands was water related works.

Today our government reacts to even a small complain received on water related issue. We are going ahead with keeping future in mind. We don’t want such situation to occur in future in Saurashtra. When I became CM, the entire govt budget was Rs 6,000 crore. Today we have fixed Rs 10,000 crore budget only to solve the water issue in Saurashtra.

Desilting works are going on in check dams, water bodies, dams. We want to convert problem into an opportunity. Through present desilting works that are going on, we may get double capacity of water storage in future.
