Gujarat BJP plans biggest post-election gathering, Rajnath Singh to be given grand felicitationThe ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has plans to celebrate its 33rd foundation day on April 6 in Gujarat in presence of party`s national president Rajnathsingh.

Rajnath will be accorded a big felicitaion by the party workers in Ahmedabad. Rajnathsingh who is considered very close to Chief Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Gujarat for the first time after assuming the charge of party president, and therefore the state unit has decided to felicitate him on this occasion.

Reliable party sources told this correspondent that the senior leaders of the state unit discussed the proposed programmes to be organized on April 6 -Saturday .

As per the tentative arrangements more than 1,00,000 party workers would attend the foundation day celebration which would be attended by senior BJP leaders of the state as well as from Delhi.

The function assumes great political significance as Rajnathsingh who enjoyed blessings and confidence of RSS had accorded tortuous welcome to Chief Minister Narendra Modi during national executive of the party held in Delhi few days back and in these circumstances state unit would also reciprocate the gesture shown to Modi by the national president on April 6 in Ahmedabad.

The state unit leaders have already communicated to the district committees and conveners of the various cells to start coordination with the state unit to make the function a grand success.
This is going to be the first major function being organized by the party after winning the state assembly election in December. State BJP organizing secretary Bhikhubhai Dalsania is busy hobnobbing with important leaders who are to be entrusted the responsibilities for the foundation day function.

The venue of the main function is not yet decided but it will be in Ahmedabad so that the workers from across the state could reach the city conveniently.

Alongwith assembly election the party has also put up excellent performance in just concluded elections of district, taluka and municipalities, and at present the process of organizational election is also going on and shortly the state would have a new state unit president.

It is not known as to who will replace the outgoing president R C Faldu, but one thing is certain that he would be chosen from the powerful Patel community which had extended full support to Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the assembly election. At present the BJP organization has 1,20,000 active members and over 9,00,000 primary members.
