Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has been inducted to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s most powerful decision body Parliamentary Board. Shri Modi has also been placed in the Central Election Committee of party.
Shri Modi was Parliamentary Board member few years back. He and Shri Arun Jaitley were dropped from this body after Rajnath Singh became party’s national president for the first time. Now Rajnath Singh has become party preisdent again, and he has re-inducted Modi to party’s most powerful decision body.
Gujarat MLA Amit Shah has been inducted to the team as General Secretary. Shah is elected from Amdavad’s Naranpura assembly seat. He is former Minister of state for Home, Gujarat.
Earlier, Gujarat was represented in national body of BJP by Rajya Sabha MP and Modi loyalist Parshottam Rupala, who was made Vice President as per Modi’s wish. Now as per Modi’s wish only, Gujarat is represented in national body of BJP by Amit Shah, who has been made General Secretary. Rupala’s Rajya Sabha term is ending next year. He could be made Gujarat BJP’s president again, as he is Modi loyalist, Patidar by caste, he hails from Saurashtra, he is one of the most powerful orators in Gujarat and his organizational skills are well admired. But then there’s a point. State party Presidents automatically becomes part of the national executive. So why then Rupala is included in the national executive if he has to be made state party president soon? This signifies that RC Faldu may get another term as party president. Or anyone else? The answer will arrive soon.
Rajya Sabha MP elected from Gujarat, Smriti Irani has been made Vice President of the party.
