Points mentioned by state govt in favor of Lokayukta ammendment bill

Following are some points/clarifications, the state government has made in Gujarat assembly today in support of new Lokayukta amendment bill tabled today:
-Like in Lokpal bill, the Prime Minister is the decision maker, the Gujarat Lokayukta amendment bill also gives same power to the Chief Minister.
-Prime Minister is kept out from the purview of Lokpal in centre, but in Gujarat Lokayukta amendment bill, Chief Minister has been included under purview of Lokayukta.
-Present amendment bill will not affect appointment of RA Mehta as Lokayukta.
-Nothing against Justice RA Mehta in particular, the court battle was against Governor’s unilateral decision and announcement on new Lokayukta.
-One Lokayukta would not be able to effectively cover all local bodies, therefore the system of multiple Lokayuktas is good.
