Kerala's minister in trouble because he met Modi

Ahmedabad, 20 April 2013

Remember yesterday we published a story of Kerala’s Labour minister meeting Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar?

Now Kerala has Congress led government, and therefore Kerala Minister who met Mr. Modi is in trouble.

Labour Minister and RSP (B) leader Shibu Baby John met Chief Minister Narendra Modi to know Gujarat model in skill development and training, after which Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Saturday sought an explanation from Mr John. Mr. Chnady told media that he had sought a clarification, and added that he would make it clear that the Gujarat model of development is not at all acceptable to Kerala.

“I only sought to know Gujarat’s model in skill development and training when I met Modi. This is part of my department. I first met the Labour Minister there (in Ahmedabad) and he suggested I meet Modi also, saying he has been in overall charge of the state,” Mr John told reporters in Thiruvananthapuram.

Meanwhile PTI has quoted sources and reported that Mr Achuthanandan, the CPI (M) leader might stay away from a function next week at Sree Narayana Mutt at nearby Varkala, where Mr Modi is chief guest.
