Former Gujarat Minister and BJP leader Fakirbhai Vaghela passed away today evening at Gandhinagar’s Civil hospital due to heart attack. Vaghhela lost last assembly election from Vadgam seat in north Gujarat. During 2002-2007, he was Schedule Caste face of Narendra Modi ministry.

Soon after completing the inaugural function of Amdavad National Book Fair, Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi Tweeted: Saddened by the demise of party colleague and former minister Shri Fakirbhai Vaghela. My condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

Name : FAKIRBHAI RAGHABHAI VAGHELA
Date of Birth : 17.10.1952.
Educational Qualification : M.Com., L.L.B.(Spl), D.L.P., C.A.I.I.B.

Employment : 1969 started carrier as a Clerk in A.M.T.S. By hard work and dedication reached at the position of Manager in Nationalised Bank in 1978. To serve weaker section/Dalits left the position of Bank Manager and contested the Assembly election in Gujarat in 1990.

Social : 1962 joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(R.S.S.) as a Swayamsevak.
– 1992 to till date President and Managing trustee – Dalit Adhikhar Sangh Gujarat an N.G.O.struggling for Dalit’s rights.

Political : 1971 joined Bharatiya Jansangh Party after having greatly inspired by its policies and patriotism.
– 1977 to 1980 actively participated in Yuva Morcha a Youth wing of Janata Party (Jansangh).
– 1980 to 1988 President of Ahmedabad Dist. BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha.
