Weak currency affects South/Central Gujarat industries
July 04, 2013
Surat, 4 July, 2013
Gujarat gas has announced fresh hike in industrial gas rates. From 1st July, industrial units will be charged Rs. 33.29 per standard cubic meter . The earlier rate was Rs. 31.53. Thus there has been a hike of 5.6% or Rs. 1.76 per standard cubic meter. The price hike is attributed to weak position of Rupee against Dollar and increase in gas prices internationally. Around 400-500 industrial units in Surat, Ankleshwar and Bharuch belt majorly involved in textile, chemical and pharmacy sectors are consumers of Gujarat gas.
