In a shocking case of medical negligence in Uttar Pradesh, a rickshaw puller, playing the role of a ward boy in an understaffed government hospital in Balia, without medical expertise, killed a seven-month-old child by giving him an injection. The seven-month-old babydied in the emergency ward of the hospital on Tuesday, where sweepers and a rickshaw puller are bizarrely asked to fill in for tasks meant only for trained medical experts. Raju, the rickshaw puller, was assigned by the officials of the hospital to give injections and apply stitches to the patients.
