Surat, 22 July 2013
A ground plus four floor high building located near Tata High School on Navsari-Surat main road may collapse anytime in Navsari town of south Gujarat.
Local civic body had served notice to this weak building owned by Gulam Mohammad Bharuchi and asked to vacate it some time back.
While residential rooms on upper floors were vacated, the ground floor was still used by shop keepers.
After recent heavy rain, the building was found unsteady today. All shops were forced to shut down, and traffic was diverted to alternative road.
Local civic body has sought help of Surat Fire Brigade to dismantle this dangerous building safely.
