Non-bailable warrant against untraced PP Pandey

CBI Court in Ahmedabad today issued non-bailable warrant against top cop P.P.Pandey who is accused in Ishrat Jahan encounter case.
Pandey had requested the court that he would not be able to appear in court in person. The court however rejected his request. As Pandey failed to appear before the court, he was issued non-bailable warrant.
The court rejected Pandey’s plea against his arrest. Pandey had in his plea asked the court that he was a serving police officer and he could not be arrested without the permission of the state government as per rules.
In another development the Gujarat High Court rejected Pandey’s anticipatory bail plea. Pandey is untraced ever since the CBI special court rejected his bail plea yesterday in the afternoon.
