On Gujarat BJP’s Shakti Kendra strategy

A new idea of ‘Shakti Kendra’ coined by BJP is discussed frequently in recent organizational meetings of Gujarat BJP. The idea is however unknown to general public.

So what is Shakti kendra?

A party insider told DeshGujarat that there are nearly nearly 4,500 taluka panchayat seats across Gujarat. The idea is about creating one Shakti Kendra team in each Taluka panchayat seat area. A taluka panchayat office bearer elected on BJP ticket will be made president of Shakti kendra of same taluka. Two party workers from all morchas and booth committee presidents in same taluka panchayat seat area will be made members of Shakti kendra.

Shakti kendra teams will study booth level voting patterns in their taluka panchayat seat area. They will identify the booths where party lacks support and ensure better performance of party on polling day. To achieve this goal they will start working in the field from the next month.

In municipal corporation and municipality areas, Shakti kendras will be created in each ward. There are total 214 wards in municipal corporations, and 1497 wards in municipalities across Gujarat.

BJP is going to organize district executive body meetings from 4 August. The party plans to complete all district executive meetings by 25 August. Review meetings of all assembly seats will also complete by 25 August.
