Special Operation Group(SOG) of Jamnagar district police had registered complaint against Jayendra and others in imported coal scam last month. Jayendra was called to police station and questioned too, but was not arrested. Jayendra later filed anticipatory bail plea which was rejected by court.
The district police has so far failed to arrest Jayendra and 17 other accused. It is believed that a political deal between Raghavji Patel and ruling BJP is responsible for police inaction.
General elections of Lok Sabha are to be held next year, and Jamnagar Lok Sabha seat has been with Congress for last two terms.
