Modi’s fear among rivals causes big bang in Parliament

New Delhi, 5 September 2013
Anti-Modi political parties, including those headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati and Nitish Kumar, today demanded a discussion in parliament on the letter of IPS Vanzara.
“There should be a discussion in both houses on the letter and there should a CBI inquiry into the allegations made by DG Vanzara,” said Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati.
In the upper house or Rajya Sabha, the BSP,Samajwadi Party and Janata Dal-United chanted the police officer’s name, “Vanzara, Vanzara”, raising the demand for a discussion about the officer’s letter. The Left, SP and JD-U walked out when it was not allowed.
“We were told that a discussion cannot be allowed on this because it’s a state matter,”said CPI-M member Sitaram Yechury.
Author’s note:
Hundreds of police encounters took place when Mayavati and Mulayam were Chief Minister in Uttar Pradesh. Left’s record is even worse. Forget police encounters, its cadre has brutally killed hundreds political rivals including several RSS workers in Kerala and West Bengal in all these years. While common people are not interested in any encounter cop or his letter, political rivals of Mr. Modi are doing their best to divert the attention from inflation and economic mess to Vanzara’s letter. This only shows fear of Modi among rivals.
