“Why bandh call on Mahavir Jayanti, why not on Sunday then?”

On the eve of Gujarat Bandh declared by the state Congress, one particular discussion on Gujarati TV channel was really interesting. It was between Gujarat BJP Samvad cell convener Dr.Parag Sheth and Gujarat Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar.

Sheth belongs to Jain community, and he surprised Shailesh Parmar by raising the point that Congress had given bandh call on Mahavir Jayanti, which is the biggest Jain festival during year.

“Is Congress out of the mind? Has any party given bandh call on festival day in the past? Instead of Mahavir Jayanti Gujarat Congress should have called for bandh on Sunday then, for even more response,” Sheth said.

In reply to this Parmar said that Congress would not disturb any procession of Jain community.

Dr. Sheth attacked Congress and said Khemka’s letter in which daamad was directly accused was more serious than Vanzara’s letter. He termed Congress’s bandh call as photo opportunity call, and said the government is capable to deal with those who try to disturb and law and order situation and peace in the state.

Dr. Sheth questioned the existence of Congress party among people at large, and reminded that how badly Congress lost last year’s general elections, and subsequently the by-polls of four assembly and two Lok Sabha seats that were earlier occupied by Congress.

In reply to Dr. Sheth, Shailesh Parmar it seems leaked Congress party’s next strategy and said, “Vanzara’s letter is just one thing, wait for further revelations in Haren Pandya murder case. Entire India will see the story behind this political murder.”
