1.30 PM: Mix response to bandh call in parts of Amdavad after Congress men visit markets

Ahmedabad, 6 September 2013
At. 1.30 pm a good number of shops are closed in Amdavad’s Hindu-Muslim mix areas of Raipur, Relief road, Juhapura and V.S hospital. This after local Congress men visited the markets and asked shop owners to shut down. Considering the fact that today’s bandh call has been given on non-appealing issue, also considering the fact that the bandh call was declared just a day before yesterday, and considering the situation of Congress party in Gujarat for last many years, this much of success is not bad. There are reports that Congress workers have attempted to shut down the textile market in Surat and blocked traffic at national highway. 100s of Congress workers including many Congress MLAs are held across Gujarat while attempting to impose bandh.
